Dustin Melchior is a Marin County native, a licensed Registered Veterinary Technician, and a CompTIA A+ certified IT professional. After 14 years working in veterinary medicine — as a vet tech, supervisor, hospital manager, and emergency clinician — he founded Redwood Vet Tech to solve a problem he lived firsthand.
I've worked in everything from general practice to emergency medicine — including a role as an emergency clinician at Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital in Snohomish, WA, one of the most respected emergency clinics in the Pacific Northwest — and spent over three years with a nonprofit veterinary organization. I've lived every role in the clinic. I know what breaks, when it breaks, and why it matters.
Now I'm channeling that experience into something new — technology support that actually understands the veterinary world from the inside out. Redwood Vet Tech exists because I got tired of watching good clinics get let down by IT providers who had never set foot in an exam room, never worked a busy Saturday, and had no idea what it actually costs a practice when a server goes down mid-appointment.
